Your Brain Your Choice

Your Brain Your Choice

Pretty catchy if I say so myself. What a great name for a website about life and all the choices we are faced with.

As enticing as it is, I landed on Your People Your Place, which also has a nice ring to it. But the reality is, it is your brain and your choice for literally everything you choose in this life.

If that is the case, why are we seemingly so angry about the choices Other people make?

There’s a SNL skit where Pete Davidson does the unthinkable and buys airport sushi from the LaGuardia airport gift store, needless to say, craziness ensues, including an operatic number to emphasize the errors in his way.

For most of us, our brain would scream “hell no”! But let’s face it, it is your brain, your choice.

Congratulations on reaching your midlife! You made it but we’re seriously only half-way. Take a look around you. Who’s your sounding board? Who is your trusted confidant? Who is there to catch you when you are on the verge of a bad decision?

The reality is you are an adult and can make your own decisions. Would you like French fries or a side of fruit, pretty harmless, you can do it. But what about plowing your life savings into a new business venture? Hmm, that feels a little heavier.

We all need some advice from time-to-time. At Your People Your Place we want to connect you with a sounding board, a devil's advocate so to speak. Yes, we are adults but ever so often we are so hungry that we think that airport sushi is a good choice.

As for other people's decisions, we do have to accept them but if we care about or love them, we need to summon up the courage to ask questions or present options.

At YPYP we want YOU to ask questions, bounce off your peers, speak up when others do not see the obvious. This is a place for love, respect and safety. We all make stupid mistakes sometimes, we are here because we have the courage to share and make better decisions.

Information has been labeled power, so come on in, get some power and perspective and for God’s sake, do not buy the airport sushi.
