Community Rules

This is an at-will community to provide support, self-help, ideas, share successes from both positive and negative life experiences in order to pursue a joy-filled life. We are not here to give medical or psychological advice, although you may have access to third-party service providers who can support you professionally. This group thrives on participation and each of us are encouraged to participate to whatever extent we feel comfortable. This is not a place for sharing political views or content in any way, shape or form.

Trust and confidentiality are cornerstones of our rules but so is proper decorum when communicating with members in chat and in live events.

The following ground rules facilitate the development of trust in the group and enable us to share our thoughts and feelings with each other.

  • Because confidentiality is essential, we expect that each person will respect and maintain the confidentiality of the YPYP members. What is said in this community, stays in this community.

  • We are here to share our own feelings and experiences; we do not give advice or tell people what to do, rather we offer up our own life experiences.

  • We all share in the responsibility for making this group work.

  • We accept people as they are, and we avoid making judgments.

  • We have the right to speak and the right to remain silent.

  • We give supportive attention to the person who is communicating and avoid interrupting.

  • We have the right to ask questions and the right to refuse to answer.

  • We should be aware of a persons feelings and talk about what will be, more than we talk about the past, which cannot be changed.

  • We do not reference community members who are not present.
